WWE Old School

Many of you do not know that I use to and still do, watch wrestling. My cousin David got me into wrestling at a young age in the 90s and that was during the "Attitude Era" when Stone Cold, The Rock, The Undertaker, HHH, and many others made wrestling popular. Since then most of them have retired or have moved on to other things, such as the Rock going into the film industry. WWE has done a pretty good job filling in the holes of those legends with Superstars such as John Cena and others. However recently the entertainment aspect of their main show, RAW has been lacking and boring to say the least. They are changing that though.

WWE has looked back into the past and realized that the "Attitude Era" has some of the best ratings and they are beginning to go back into that era again. In 2011, several superstars came back to WWE such as The Rock, Kevin Nash, old-school Kane, Mick Foley and Trish Stratus. These superstars made the show interesting and they are continuing the returns and I am very excited about it. There is only one superstar that I am waiting to see return and that is The Undertaker.

He has not officially retired from WWE and was last seen at Wrestlemania 2011. He has a winning streak at Wrestleman 19-0 and is expected to return anytime soon. At the end of the month there is the Royal Rumble and I expect him to return then!

Yes WWE is reaching back into their past and making it all old school. I am anxious to see who shall return in 2012!

A Little Break From the Break

I started to think last week about heading to Mobile for a little visit. This is to get me out of the house for a little while and to visit my friends back in Mobile.

I am pretty excited about it even though it has only been a month since I left. I have missed my friends greatly. I will be down there starting Wednesday through Monday or Tuesday. Lots of people to see and not much time. I hope I get to see as many people as possible. It will be busy but fun!

The Wait Continues...

For the first time in weeks, I have heard back from some jobs...

The first job I heard back from the NWS in Key West, FL. The NOAA representative emailed me and said they are reviewing my application for a meteorology intern at the office! It will take about 2 weeks for them to go through the applications and to fill the vacancy. This is the first time I have heard from one of the NWS jobs I have applied for. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

The other job that I kind of heard from was the job for the NDBC. I heard that they started to do interviews for the job. I was hoping to have a call today [Thursday] but haven't received one and believe it is safe to say that I didn't get a job. Not giving up all my hope for the NDBC as there are 3 more positions to open up soon. Hopefully I can get one of those.

So the wait continues as more applications are being sent out. I haven't heard anything from any of the local jobs.

The patience is slowly running out.

Batman: Arkham City

For Christmas I got a PS3 and I have been enjoying it since then! I have gotten several games and with no job, I have had a LOT of free time to play. I have played Batman: Arkham Asylum and I just finished Batman: Arkham City, which is the sequel. By far it is my favorite game!

I am not going to give away the plot or anything like that but I love everything about this game. The "world" on this game is much larger than the first one and something new is side missions. In the first Batman game you are solely facing Joker but in this game you face/see so many villains! One of my favorite Batman villains made an appearance...Mr. Freeze! He was one of the toughest people you face in the game but I enjoyed it because you had to think about your attack plan.

I recently beat the main plot of the game and am now on the sideline missions. I have beaten the following villains:
  • Penguin
  • Joker
  • Harley Quinn
  • Mr. Freeze
  • Zsasz
  • Bane
  • Dr. Hugo Strange
  • Ra's Al Ghul
  • Two-Face
I have the following villains to defeat:
  • The Riddler
  • Deadshot
  • Unknown/New Villain
Still have much to do in the city but enjoying every moment of it! If you love superheroes then I suggest buying this game!

Transition

Transition. A somewhat newly formed group at my church aimed at college-aged people who are transitioning between youth and adulthood. Started off strong through a coffee shop and many bible studies. Now....it is not so strong. Many factors must be contributed to this including some of the following...

1. Pregnancy. Something happened at my church in which several non-married people became pregnant and ended up marrying the person they had the baby with. So now the group is made up of married people with children which makes it hard to plan events. Because of this the main objective of the group has seemed to change to focus on young married couples. Tonight a bible study was started aimed at being good parents and the sunday school lesson is aimed at being good mothers and fathers. Does this turn single people off...yes it does.

2. College. A college group is hard to do as the students go back and forth. For example me, I came back to Charleston every 6 months and when I was here I didn't even do much with the group.

3. Lack of outreach. The coffee house was the outreach that brought in people to the group. I never actually went to one as it started after I left but my mother helped out with it and she said a lot of new faces came into the group through the coffee house. I am not sure when, or why it stopped but it does not exist anymore and it is hard to get people into the group now.

So yeah the group has nearly fallen apart and something has to change if transition is going to exist. How it needs to change, I'm not sure.

Real Quick

Been a little busy....sort of....and haven't posted in a while. The holidays are over and now my busy life is coming to a temporary close. I still have no job although I am applying at a rate of about 2 jobs per day. Please continue to pray for this subject. I am going to start applying to graduate schools next week....mainly Mississippi State, Georgia State, and Florida State. Most likely I will end up with the Mississippi State as it is an online program and I can work and go to school at the same time.

Tomorrow there is a party at my house in my honor and for me graduating college. It should be fun! The whole house has been transferred into a red, white, blue theme [the school colors]. We are having chili and fixings and tons of dessert.

Well thats my quick catch up for my blog followers. Gotta go to bed, the "after party" is going to run late....haha.

Until next time...

One of Those Days

Today has been one of those days when I really wish I was in Mobile. Today Mom and me discussed a little bit of the future and I brought up moving back to Mobile. We discussed it financially and we decided that it was best that I not move to Mobile. I was planning on moving back to Mobile and living with Micah in mid-Feb. Obviously that is not going to happen.

This is one of those days when I miss Mobile and the people in Mobile dearly. I hope to see at least one person from Mobile soon...
