Tough

Today was a tough days. Ever since I have moved back, I have had some rough days dealing with moving back home. It is tough overall but there are some days where I don't mind it. Today was one of those days that I mind it.

Mom and Randall were cleaning out stuff and I got put in charge of shredding Mom's old checkbooks. Doesn't sound too bad does it......well it was! The checkbooks dated back to 1999!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spent from 11ish to 1:30 ripping and shredding. I still haven't finished and must finish tomorrow as we have company coming in Thursday evening. That is how I spent my Saturday morning....sitting in the same spot and doing the same thing over and over. In case you didn't know, that is what I do during the week and I was hoping today would had been different. I also had to move a filing cabinet down the stairs with Randall and if you know Randall then you know it is an ordeal...but that is a post all in itself!

I had an eyes appointment at 2:45 at Lenscrafters. We got there right at 2:45 and I was called back two times and they dilated my eyes and waited for the eyes to be completely dilated. At this point it is 5:05. That is almost 2.5 hours waiting for me to finish just the exam part. I had an event at 5 and was stuck at the mall and still had to drive me home. I was furious! Finally left and I told the doctor I would not be coming back! Unfortunately I have to go back tomorrow and order my new glasses....ugh.

The event I had was a "Transition" chili cook off at church....was supposed to be for young adults. Want to know how many young adults there were? Five. The rest were adult couples with young children. There were 7 adult couples there and the event was not even fun! Two people and me went out for ice cream afterwards....that was more fun than the event.

I get back to my house and I get a text about a super bowl party next sunday. Sounds fun right?! Nope. The people who were invited are all couples with kids (minus one couple who has been smart and waited). Sounds. Like. A. Blast. (rolling of the eyes).

Yes today has been one of those tough days. I'm about to go to bed and forget this day. Later.

Back Again

This past weekend I went to visit Mobile for the weekend and it was a great trip! I went down Wednesday and that night just hung out with Micah and Mel came over and brought brownies. Pretty chill night to recover from the long drive (9.5 hours to be exact). Thursday is when the fun started!

Thursday I picked up Mel at 11:00 and we went to CFA and then went to the bookstore around noon. I walked into the store anxious to see everyone. Deb, my boss, was not there as she went to lunch so I went around and saw everyone. It was great to be back at the store. The last few semesters, the store was my safe haven and met many great people there. I ended up staying at the store for 4 hours!! After that we went to the BCM and saw some of the people there including Shannon and Jerrod. After that we went to Chili's for dinner and watched Alvin & the Chipmunks. Great day indeed!

Friday was a little less hectic but still fun. Started off with lunch with some cool BCMers and then Mel, Micah, Lynn, Ben, Rachael, and me all went out on a triple date to Momma Goldberg's and then played a board game. Saturday was a event filled day! Started off with going to Deb's to take a trip on the boat and go to lunch. We went to Bluegill's. It was extremely cold but fun! After that Micah and BJ had to go to work at the basketball but Adam and me went to watch it. It was fun to actually watch a game instead of working it! We ended up losing but that was fun. A trip to Krispy Kreme and then some Wii playing until about 1:30 AM!

Sunday went to church with Micah and then just chilled around his apartment. Then dinner with Colin, Christina, Erika, Braden, and Mel, oh and some Chill! That was the end of the weekend.

It was pointed out that it had been exactly a month since I left but it felt like I had never left. Just restarted things and jumped back right in with the friendships I had. I miss the gulf coast greatly and constantly thinking of how to get back there ASAP!

Next Step

Considering that the job search has not gone as I have hoped, I am beginning the next step to obtain a job...

I have applied to graduate school to obtain a masters in meteorology. I completed two applications...one to Mississippi State and one to Florida State. I still have two more applications to fill out, to Georgia Tech (or State, can't remember which one has the meteorology program) and either University of South Carolina or College of Charleston. Obviously I am trying to stay in the SE and be somewhat close to both Mobile and Charleston!

Yep, took the next step last night, we shall see where it leads!

WWE Old School

Many of you do not know that I use to and still do, watch wrestling. My cousin David got me into wrestling at a young age in the 90s and that was during the "Attitude Era" when Stone Cold, The Rock, The Undertaker, HHH, and many others made wrestling popular. Since then most of them have retired or have moved on to other things, such as the Rock going into the film industry. WWE has done a pretty good job filling in the holes of those legends with Superstars such as John Cena and others. However recently the entertainment aspect of their main show, RAW has been lacking and boring to say the least. They are changing that though.

WWE has looked back into the past and realized that the "Attitude Era" has some of the best ratings and they are beginning to go back into that era again. In 2011, several superstars came back to WWE such as The Rock, Kevin Nash, old-school Kane, Mick Foley and Trish Stratus. These superstars made the show interesting and they are continuing the returns and I am very excited about it. There is only one superstar that I am waiting to see return and that is The Undertaker.

He has not officially retired from WWE and was last seen at Wrestlemania 2011. He has a winning streak at Wrestleman 19-0 and is expected to return anytime soon. At the end of the month there is the Royal Rumble and I expect him to return then!

Yes WWE is reaching back into their past and making it all old school. I am anxious to see who shall return in 2012!
