Fun Weekend

This weekend has been one of the best weekends of the semester so far!

Friday our Oozeball team made shirts and then some of us went to Chill. Afterwards I went to Best Buy and the mall to do some shopping. Of course I didn't buy anything because I got no money! Came back and add a big plate of mac n' cheese and then Braden and me went to BK and walmart.

Saturday was Oozeball. Our team (Superheros in Training) lost two games and were eliminated. I stayed out to support another team (Oklahomiez) whose record was 3-2. I got really sunburned!! Saturday night went over to Taylor's place to dye eggs, cook dinner [chicken nuggets, mac n' cheese, and broccoli] and watched Alladin!

Sunday I woke up at about 9:30 and started to do laundry. Did about 4 loads of laundry and then got a shower to head to the Jags baseball game. Jags won! Got more sunburned there [suffering right now because of that] and then went to the mall with Braden. Found out the Disney Store here in Mobile is closing down....sad day. Came back to the room and started on case studies, while listening to Disney tunes. Haven't done as much as I was hoping but it is a start nonetheless.

Yep, pretty good weekend!

Blog Header

As you can see, the above image is the header for my newly designed blog. I wanted to explain the different photos in the image. First of all every photo represents things that I love (outside of friends and family). Start at the bottom left....

The first image is a collage of the animation drawings of various Disney movies. If you know me then you know that I LOVE disney and everything it is associated with. Moving to the right, you see an image of my favorite super-hero. His name is Gambit and he uses kinetic energy to heat up everyday objects and uses them as weapons. He mainly uses playing cards. To the right of that you see an image of the logo for CBS's NCIS tv-show. This is my favorite tv show! I love the forensic scientist Abby the most!

Moving up from the NCIS image is a photo of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, located in Charleston, SC. It is the largest cable bridge in North America! I was born and raised in Charleston, SC and proud of it! The image in the top right position is the logo for Mario and represents anything Nintendo. I am a huge Mario fan! To the left of the Mario image is cumulus nimbus cloud with lightning....aka a thunderstorm. I am a meteorologist and love the weather!

As we move left still, we come upon the Pirates of the Caribben: At Stranger Tides movie poster. These movies (all 4 and any others they make) are my favorite movies of all time! I love everything about the movies! The final image, the one in the top left corner is the symbol of the wrestler, The Undertaker. He has been my
favorite wrestler since I was a kid and will always be my favorite wrestler in the WWE.

So there you have it. A collage of my favorite things! Hope you like it!

It Is Well!

This song has been on my mind lately. Great version of the song by Kutless:

After College

Even though I graduate in December, I am already starting to think about what will happen after I graduate college. Where will I work? Where will I go for grad school? Who will keep in touch with me? Who will I keep in touch with?

Not sure why but it hit me pretty hard last night and I lost a lot of sleep because of it. I have to make a lot of decisions in the next 5 months, some pretty tough decisions regarding grad school and jobs. I will be leaving Mobile in December to move back to Charleston for 7 months in which I have to find a job during that time. I will then move again to head to grad school (location still unknown).

I just need to hand it over to God and put it in His hands. I can tell you this though, the next 8 months are going to be rough...

Change is Good

Change is coming to Adventures at South! As you can see change is already taking place...

I am re-doing my blog as it will soon not fit my life, siince I will be graduating USA this upcoming December. The title of the blog is still a work in progress (still taking suggestions). I must say, I'm getting pretty excited (I know, I'm a nerd).

Change is good sometimes. To start the change here is a nice little song from Shrek 2....

"The Pixar Story"

"The Pixar Story" is a documentary about Pixar (obviously) and the birth and growth of the company. If you have netflix and can watch the instant movies, I highly recommend this film. I find it amazing to see how Steve Jobs (CEO of Apple) was involved in the creation of Pixar and how many other famous people, including George Lucas, were involved in some sort in the creation of Pixar. I also find it very interesting how Disney was involved in the success of Pixar and how they will continue to grow together. I don't think Disney would be Disney we know today without Pixar. I look forward to what Pixar will come up with next! Again, watch this documentary!

Slow-Paced

I see all this stuff on facebook and twitter about 100 facts about me and stuff like that. I'm not going to do that, trust me, I don't know time to think of 100 facts and I'm sure you are not that interested. However I would like to mention one fact about me.....a fact that explains a lot. When I was being born [woa....before your mind goes crazy, this is not going to be a gross fact or anything like that. this fact about me started 21 yrs ago when I was being born.....ha now your interested hahaha], I took my time coming! My Mom has always told me that my sister and my births match our personalities very well. My sister is very hyper and do things very quickly, and she was born rather quickly on March 17th. On the other hand you have me. I like to take my time in things and take a while with decisions. When I was being born, I took my time coming on June 26th. So in case you missed it, I'm a little slow. I don't mean special-ed slow but slow-paced. I take my time with decisions, work, pretty much everything I do slow. This is why I am not very adventurous, because I don't know what is going to happen....I haven't thought about it and consider all the possibilities. This can be a good trait but it can also be a bad trait considering there are people [like my sister] who are fast paced. Well there you have it, I fun fact about me!

Name Change

Considering you are reading this, you know the title of my blog is Adventures at South and the purpose of this blog was to record my adventures while here at South. However my time at South is coming to an end soon [graduating in December] and the title will no longer work. I need a new name for the blog. I was thinking something related to weather considering I will be a meteorologist. Any suggestions??

Wrestlemania XXVII

Wrestlemania 27 was last night and it was pretty sweet! Shannon Hughes let us watch it at her house and she cooked us spaghetti, which was really good! Braden and me got a cake what said "Wrestlemania 27" from Winn Dixie. It was a good setting and a lot of fun. The highlight of the evening for me was The Undertaker vs HHH match. The match was very intense and very physical for both men. The Undertaker has a record at wrestlemania for not losing a match for the past 18 years. The "streak" is still alive as he defeated HHH and is now 19 - 0!

Thanks again to Shannon for letting us use her house! Will I watch wrestlemania 28? Who knows.....only time will tell.
