Suspicious
Work
About four weeks ago I put in my two week notice at the bookstore. There were several reasons on why I did this and there is no reason to mention those but they were pretty legit excuses! Overall it was time for a change. Well the two weeks passed and I came to my last day at work and I ended up working the whole day which is cool with me, one last big pay check before I leave. However my boss brought up a proposition that I couldn't pass. She offered that I still be an employee with the store but only work outside events [athletic events, USA day, etc]. I said yes!
So I am still employed with the bookstore but I pretty much choose the events I want to work, which is very nice. I have so much more free time than before and more time to work on school work [hence why I have been blogging so much]. If you look at it a certain way this was a promotion. In the store we get paid $7.25 but for outside events we get paid $7.74.....so I only work for $7.74 now :D I love loops holes!
I haven't worked in the past two weeks due to spring break and such but this week I am/have working the baseball, softball, and spring football games.
Yep, I must say that the work life is good...

New Show
I pulled up netflix and looked at the TV shows that were available to play instantly and there it was.....Grey's Anatomy. I have heard so much about this show but never actually watched it. So I pulled it up and started to watch it. I am now half way through season 3.....lol.
I am not sure what it is about the show that attracts me. I like most of the characters but can't stand some of them [including the one that show is named after]. I don't like how it is predictable sometimes but then they throw a big twist which I do like. So yeah....this is my new show for now.
Will I buy all of the seasons? No. Will I continue to watch it until the end? Probably. Does it beat Heroes? No.

Wrestlemania 27
As so many have found out over recent weeks, I watch wrestling every week and I am not ashamed! I grew up with and I find it entertaining!
For 27 years the WWE has put on a pay-per-view called Wrestlemania. I have never watched this huge event [lasts about 3 hours] but that all changes this year! Braden and me are going to watch Wrestlemania 27 and I am very excited! There are some great matches lined up thus far.
To start off, the event being hosted by the Rock who returned after a 7 year break from the WWE. Here is the current list of matches:
The Miz vs John Cena - WWE Championship [kind of looking forward to this]
Alberto De Rio vs Edge - World Heavyweight Championship [I can't stand Rio.....Edge I like]
HHH vs The Undertaker - Streak [This is the match I'm looking forward to the most!!!!]
Jerry "The King" Lawler vs Michael Cole - Singles Match w/ Stone Cold as guest referee [I'm going to watch this only because of Stone Cold]
Randy Orton vs CM Punk - Singles Match [I love Orton and can't stand Punk]
Rey Mysterio vs Cody Rhodes - Singles Match [who cares about this match???]
Wrestlemania 27 takes place on April 3rd and I am couting down the days!!!
Spring Break 2011: Washington, DC
We left last Friday (3/11) and headed up to Tuscaloosa, AL and spent the night there and then caught the Amtrak train to DC. The train ride was interesting and my first train ride. It took roughly 18 hours to get to DC and we were all ready to get off of the train. We stayed in Georgetown [which is a fancy place and part of DC] at Georgetown Baptist Church. Saturday night we just chilled and picked our prayer partners for the week by random drawing.
Sunday we started out by prayer walking around the church for the community to seek God through a church and to let people know that Georgetown Baptist was there for them. We also handed out magnets for the church when we got a chance. We then went to George Washington University and prayer walked around the campus. The university is close to the National Mall so we went there and saw some monuments: Lincoln, Washington, Vietnam Memorials.
Monday through Thursday we did more prayer walking around Georgetown and Georgetown University. We also worked with the Georgetown Homeless organization and made sandwiches for the homeless and helped pass them out. In Montgomery, MD we went to an organization called "Manna" which is a food bank for the needy. Braden and me helped distribute the food while the others went through canned goods and organized them. It was estimated that we all moved around 1,000 lbs. of food. The people at the organization were blown away by how much food we moved. We also cleaned up the church we were staying at.
Throughout the week we also visited the Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and saw the White House.
This was a different mission trip because it focused on prayer and not really service. We spent hours praying for the community, the church, and the DC area. Our goal was to help build up the community and to let the community know that the church was there or them. We tried to be effective in building relationships with people and to show that the church cares for them. We did do the two service projects but that was it service wise.
I enjoyed this mission trip and I am glad that Jerrod opened our eyes to the different types of missions. Thanks Jerrod!

Please be in prayer for this mission trip as we go and do community service with a church up there and around DC.
Also please be in prayer or another group from the BCM going on a mission trip to Ireland!
Thanks!

Friends
It is beginning to slow down a little bit but not really. On top of all the school work and craziness with SeCAPS [which will get its own blog post eventually], my friends have had some tough past few weeks. Obviously I'm not going to go into details because that is gossip.
Friendships are a great things and I believe that we couldn't live day to day without friends. I love my friends to death and it brings me great joy that they can come to me and talk things out with.
I hate to see my friends hurt in any way as it breaks my heart! However when we are hurt by a friend we most of the time jump to hatred.....its human nature. I have learned one thing though that we as Christians are supposed to love even when our friends have hurt us.
I am reminded so many times of this verse:
Proverbs 17:17 "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity."
So let's love our friends no matter what they have done to us. We are called to do that.
