Hurricane Irene: Advisory #22A

As of advisory #22A, Hurricane Irene is currently a category 3 hurricane with its eye located over the north of the Bahamas. Little change in strength and forecast since the last advisory.

The biggest news is that the coast of South Carolina is under a tropical storm watch from Edisto Beach to the SC/NC border. This means that tropical storm conditions are expected within 36 hours. According to the Channel 2 News web-site there are no evacuations planned for the SC coast. The conditions expected are high winds and heavy rains.
